1095 & 1094 Due Dates Extended by IRS

In Notice 2016-4, the IRS has announced extensions to the dates by which 2015 Forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C, and 1095-C must be furnished and filed. These extensions apply automatically to all filers, and were granted in order to provide employers and other coverage providers with additional time to adapt and implement systems and procedures to gather, analyze, and report the required data. The due date for furnishing Forms 1095-B and 1095-C to the insured and employees is extended from February 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016.

The due date for health coverage providers and employers furnishing paper Forms 1094-B and 1094-C to the IRS is extended from February 29, 2016 to May 31, 2016.

The due date for health coverage providers and employers electronically filing Forms 1094-B and 1094-C with the IRS is extended from March 31, 2016 to June 30, 2016.

While the IRS is prepared to accept filings of the information returns beginning in January 2016, employers and other coverage providers are encouraged to furnish statements and file the information returns as soon as they are ready, but no later than the deadlines listed above.
There will be an additional cost to customers that are using RDA’s print service for ACA AND wish to take advantage of the IRS extension. The additional cost will be based upon volume to cover the overhead / costs involved. To control the additional costs, RDA will NOT mail the 1095 forms directly to the employees. The forms will be shipped to you for distribution.
