GEORGIA: ADD / CHANGE BUSINESSES

New fields have been added to the Occupational Tax Charge file (OCCCHG) to address requirements of Georgia’s Public Benefits Reporting System. Starting on January 1, 2012, all persons including U. S. citizens applying for public benefits (such as occupational tax certificates) must provide the local government entity a S.A.V.E. affidavit before they can receive the public benefit. Any person who fills out the S.A.V.E. affidavit and checks either the Legal Permanent Resident or the Authorized Alien must be run through the S.A.V.E. program. The new fields are for Applicant Status (Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Qualified Alien), Alien Number, Affidavit Submitted Date, S.A.V.E. Program Results (N/A, Passed, Failed), Results Date, Affidavit Resubmitted and Affidavit Resubmitted Date (would only be applicable if the applicant Failed). A button for access to the S.A.V.E. Program URL is also on the S.A.V.E. tab. The affidavit can be scanned and attached to the business master (from either the Business Master, the Charge Master, or the Add/Change Business screen). The forms (for the occupational tax certificates) have also been modified so that the certificate cannot be printed if the results are Failed.
