Two new fields have been created in the Business Master (BUSMSTR) file to capture the Federal Work Authorization User Identification Number (E-Verify Number) and Date of Authorization for applicants for business licenses, occupational tax certificates, or other document required to operate a business. Such private employers are required to complete an affidavit that indicates the number of employees for certain periods. If 500 or more employees as of January 1, 2012, the affidavit must include the E-Verify Number and Date of Authorization. Between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013, this requirement is extended to when 100 or more employees. After July 1, 2013, this applies to 10 or more employees. The affidavit indicates that the employer has registered with and utilizes the federal work authorization program.
