Home for the Holidays…2018 Conferences Come to an End

That’s a wrap on our 2018 conference schedule! We finished up this fall with School Board conferences in North Dakota, Georgia and Tennessee. It is always good to meet new faces at these shows but it is especially nice to see the familiar faces of our users!

Leah Hollingshead was our RDA representative in beautiful Bismarck, ND for the NDSBA conference. While she was there, Leah also hosted our annual ND User Group meeting. She said the best part of the meeting was seeing RDA users actively helping other RDA users!  There was so much conversation that Leah did not get a chance to take a group photo. She did manage to catch a few of our users walking around during the conference. We will definitely get all of you next time ND users! Thank you for attending!

ND users: Tabi Schneider (Glen Ullin Public Schools), Paulette Elder (Hebron Public Schools) and Bernadine Jorgenson (White Shield School District)

Sherri Melton and Mimi English tag teamed the GASBO conference in Augusta, Georgia. As always, there was a big turnout with school districts big and small represented from all over the state. The conference had an “adventure” theme this year, and while Sherri and Mimi didn’t do anything too “adventurous” at the RDA booth, you can see that some of the others in attendance were all in with safari attire and fake mustaches!

Mimi finished the season off in Murfreesboro, TN at the TASBO conference. She made a pit stop along the way to resupply our long time customer, Tullahoma City Schools, with purple pens. It’s always nice to see the Tullahoma crew! Once arriving in Murfreesboro the temperatures dropped and there was an early arrival of snow flurries! This year’s TASBO conference was Disney themed. Given the weather conditions outside, it seemed appropriate that Elsa and Olaf lined the convention center hallways!

While it’s back to business as usual at the office for the next few months, we are already looking forward to our travels in 2019.  Both conferences and user group meetings will be on the schedule for this spring. We hope to see you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving 2018!!

Happy Thanksgiving 2018!!

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays.  It is a time when we can pause and recognize the blessings of the past year. It also a reminder to focus on the Giver and not just the gifts.

Our great President George Washington said it well in his October 3, 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation:

The full quote:

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor– and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

We are especially thankful for the opportunity to serve you. May we continue to have a flourishing and mutually beneficial relationship.  It is through our relationship that we are able to help those in need.

May the joy from His blessings overflow in your life, not only this Thanksgiving Holiday, but throughout the coming year.

VASBO Fall 2018 Recap

VASBO Fall 2018 Recap

VASBO Fall 2018

Even the remnant of Hurricane Micheal could not stop RDA from participating in the Fall 2018 VASBO Conference at the Wintergreen Resort.  Mimi English had a fun time with others running from building to building in the pouring rain storm.  She was very thankful all the attendees that drove up that foggy mountain road at night arrived safely.  What normally is a 10 minute drive up the mountain took 1 hour because of the dense fog.

Congratulations to Melissa Marrs from Nelson County School who won our gift card drawing.  Pam Blanchard of Caroline County Schools won the online scavenger hunt drawing. The scavenger hunt magic number was 7. Thank you to all that participated.

A joyful Mimi will bring her umbrella next time.

We look forward to seeing you again soon!

User Group Meetings

User Group Meetings

User Group Meetings in VA!

We are hitting the roads of Virginia and have 3 user group meetings planned in May. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us at one of these locations:

  • May 1st at Amelia County School Board
  • May 2nd at Northern Neck Technical Center
  • May 3rd at Warren County Community Center

These meetings are beneficial for both you as the user and us as the software provider. You get to learn better ways to solve problems and accomplish tasks, discover new features, and discuss issues you may have. We get to know you better, listen to your ideas, and learn new ways to improve our software. A successful user group meeting is one in which everyone can walk away knowing something they didn’t know when they came in.

Current users should have received an invitation to the meeting in your area. If you have not received an email but would like to attend, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Good Friday

Good Friday Schedule

RDA will be closed this Friday in observance of Good Friday and in celebration of Resurrection Day.

Christ’s victory over death through the resurrection gives all of God’s people the hope and joy of eternal life.  This is reason for much celebration.

He is Risen!

And He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ will suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:46-47) NASB

May you and your family be blessed this holiday!
