RDA Family Spotlight: Mimi English
Mimi is RDA’s Client Success Manager. She is a UGA graduate where she was also a member of the varsity softball team. She has a MBA in Finance and many years in the accounting / finance industry. She now spends her free time with her two daughters and coaching softball.
As part of our RDA Family Spotlight series, we asked Mimi a few questions in order for you to get to know her a little better.
Do you have a favorite quote?
I do! I was watching The Oprah Winfrey Show years and years ago and she said something that really set in with me – “Hope is not a plan”. Now is that an original Oprah quote, LOL? I don’t think so, but I give Oprah full credit when I use it because that’s where I heard it first! For me, it means if you want something, you have to work for it, earn it. I use that quote with my kids all the time. Whether it’s their grades, sports, chores, etc…hope is not a plan. You can’t just sit around and hope for something to come true. You have to decide what you want, set a goal and get into action!
People would be surprised if they knew:
That I can juggle! In 9th grade we covered juggling in our PE class. I was thrilled to learn how and all these years later I still take a few minutes to practice every now and then. I’m pretty sure my co-workers at RDA will tell you they’ve seen me walk up and down the hall juggling tennis balls a time or two.
What is your favorite thing to do?
I have 2 favorite activities. One is being at the softball field. I have 2 daughters that play travel and school softball. I’ve spent countless hours over the years watching and coaching them. I have loved every minute of it and look forward to many more years to come. My other favorite thing to do is being at the beach! I prefer the white sand and blue waters of the gulf coast, but I appreciate any and all beaches. The sound of the waves, the smell of the salt water and sunscreen….I could stay out there all day!
