Resurrection Day 2017

RDA will be closed this Friday in observance of Good Friday and in celebration of Resurrection Day.

Why do we celebrate Good Friday? Why do we celebrate the death of Jesus? Jesus died to demonstrate God’s love for you (Rom 5.8). Jesus died as a substitutionary atonement for your sins (2 Cor 5:21). Jesus died to absorb God’s wrath for you (Rom 5:9). Jesus died to disarm Satan and the demonic realm (Col. 2:15). And Jesus died and rose again to make you new (2 Cor 5:17).

Resurrection Day celebrates the reality of the ultimate good news. This good news is Christ freely giving of Himself unto death for us. He conquered death arising on the third day. Shortly thereafter, He joined God where, until He returns, He is sitting and ruling at God’s right hand.

Jesus will return to earth one day.

“[God] raised [Christ] from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places He put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”
– Ephesians 1:20–23
