Last Friday, I was privileged to attend a surprise (well, it was supposed to be a surprise) party to honor an employee’s forty years of service with the City of Chamblee (GA). I first metย Marc Johnsonย more than 25 years ago when he was the Assistant Chief of Police (and I was a city clerk/treasurer for a neighboring city). In addition to his police duties, he was also the IT Director. Subsequently, he became Police Chief and, over the years, has also been called on (several times) to serve as Acting City Manager as well as Acting Finance Director. And now (as of 10/15/2013), he is the City Manager. I know that anyone who works in local government (and school systems) is often asked to wear many hats; so true for Marc and he has worn them well. ย Hats off to you, Chief!
