Resurrection Day 2017

RDA will be closed this Friday in observance of Good Friday and in celebration of Resurrection Day.

Why do we celebrate Good Friday? Why do we celebrate the death of Jesus? Jesus died to demonstrate God’s love for you (Rom 5.8). Jesus died as a substitutionary atonement for your sins (2 Cor 5:21). Jesus died to absorb God’s wrath for you (Rom 5:9). Jesus died to disarm Satan and the demonic realm (Col. 2:15). And Jesus died and rose again to make you new (2 Cor 5:17).

Resurrection Day celebrates the reality of the ultimate good news. This good news is Christ freely giving of Himself unto death for us. He conquered death arising on the third day. Shortly thereafter, He joined God where, until He returns, He is sitting and ruling at God’s right hand.

Jesus will return to earth one day.

“[God] raised [Christ] from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places He put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”
– Ephesians 1:20–23

Update on Buddy

Update on Buddy

Buddy thenSix months ago, you may have read the blog post about Dona adopting Buddy from the Atlanta Humane Society. Buddy was one of over 50 shelties rescued from deplorable conditions. After many attempts, Dona was able to get the last sheltie that was healthy enough to be adopted. At that time, Buddy was extremely underweight, malnourished, and had a severe skin infection from a flea infestation. He spent the first 5 years of his life living outside in a crate or small pen with very little human contact and no human affection. He walked around with his tail tucked under and was so shy, timid, and fearful of everyone and everything.

Buddy nowSix months later, here is Buddy! His weight has doubled to the ideal weight for his size! His coat is beautiful, shiny, and full! His tail wags non-stop! He has learned to play with his toys and can go up and down stairs. He has recently become vocal and loves to “talk”. Buddy now knows he is a loved and treasured little boy, and he is enjoying being the king of his castle! He is thriving and learns new skills every day. He is confident, happy, and playful, and Dona is thankful for him every day!

Simplify the Budgeting Process

Simplify the Budgeting Process

RDA budget prep module

It is getting to be that time when many of you are beginning to work on your budget for the new fiscal year. Remember, RDA has a Budget Preparation Module to help simplify the budgeting process, allowing you to produce unlimited budgeting scenarios.

If you use Budget Preparation, there is no need to maintain and manipulate multiple spreadsheets. The module allows you to make any adjustments to your budget and immediately see the effects, saving countless hours when developing your budget scenarios. You have the ability to bring in a prior year’s budget as a starting point. From there you can add a percentage increase or decrease to the whole budget or specific funds. You are able to run comparison reports looking at previous years’ budgets and expenses side by side.

The Budget Preparation module also has a payroll component allowing you to run a payroll based upon your new salaries and positions for the upcoming year and import the exact figures into your new budget, including employer paid taxes and benefits. You can make any changes needed for employee jobs, salary rates, deductions changes, and expenditure activity. Once the budget is approved, all changes can be moved into the payroll and financial modules quickly and easily. There is no need to manually change actual salaries to match budgeted salaries.

With the Budget Preparation Payroll component, you can also create contracts via the Contract Writer export file. The file exports specific fields to merge into your organization’s actual contract document. The information is extracted according to the salary information that your new budget is based upon, so the contracts will agree with your budgeted figures.

We encourage you to explore the automated processes that will save you time and headache when preparing your budget for the new fiscal year.  You can contact us at support@rdasystems.com for more information on Budget Preparation to get you started.

“After remembering all those long hours of manual posting – I LOVE RDA BUDGET PREP – the fully integrated system is a huge time saver,  from budgeting to payroll it only takes a few strokes on the keyboard compared to the write it in here, post it there method “

Streamlined P-Card Process

Streamlined P-Card Process

RDA p-card

Everyone is a fan of saving time and reducing errors! Entering individual Purchase Card (P-Card) Transactions can be a very time-intensive process. OpenRDA 4.0’s newest release includes a process that can streamline the steps involved making your organization more efficient allowing time to be spent on other important tasks.

Our first user of new purchase card process shared the following comment – “I’ve only used the P-Card Interface twice, but it does seem to streamline the process. I believe there is less margin for error than entering each sale individually.”

Most P-Card providers can provide an electronic file of the transactions captured in your monthly statement which is then uploaded to OpenRDA. If your organization is interested in using this new process, please submit a helpdesk ticket so that we can review the process and setup requirements with you. You can also email us at support@rdasys.com.
