Welcome, Tucker Fowler!

Welcome, Tucker Fowler!

RDA welcomes Canton native Tucker Fowler to the team. We are grateful to have his help as our Jr. Systems Admin. Let’s learn a little more…

From: Canton, GA
Favorite Fruit: Oranges, because they are delicious and they stave off scurvy and I don’t like the idea of scurvy.
Favorite Athlete: Ken Block, because the things he does in a car should be impossible but he makes them look super simple.
Person you would most like to meet: Nicola Tesla
What I’m reading now: Biography of Elon Musk
Biggest surprise since joining RDA?: The use of open source technology and the leeway given to improve and invent processes to build a better solution for our clients. A lot of companies out there don’t take that approach and just buy off the shelf solutions. RDA fosters innovation.

Welcome, Chad Stultz!

Welcome, Chad Stultz!

Chad enjoying some time in the Bay Area.

We sat down with our new Director of Business Development and asked him a few questions.

From: Lilburn GA

Favorite Fruit: Grapes! Because they are bite size, sweet, and refreshing on a hot day.

Favorite Athlete: Tiger Woods.  I like his determination, intensity, hate to lose attitude, and he raises everyones game around him.

Person I would most like to meet: Like many, Jesus would be number one.  If we are talking celebrity, for some reason Steve Buscemi has always captured my interest.

What am I reading now: With 2 kids and all their activities my reading time is almost non-existent.  The next book I would like to pick up is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

Biggest surprise since joining RDA: How knowledgeable our support staff is not only with our software, but about fund accounting in general.  It helps when they know your job and what button to push to make things happen.

Fiscal Year End Sale

Fiscal Year End Sale

Fiscal Year End Sale!

As the fiscal year comes to an end we frequently find ourselves cleaning up, cleaning out and getting around to those “to do’s” that have been sitting on a post it note for months.

We’d like to help!  We are putting sale prices on some of our more popular year end services.

Online training for only $800 per day: You will receive the undivided attention of one of our product experts. Whether it be a new user with little or no experience or an experienced user that needs to learn a new task, our experts will share a desktop session and walk users through the process, answer questions and help them feel more comfortable with our software.

20% off data purges: Do you have years and years and years of data in your live directory? Have you noticed reports and queries taking a little too long to run?  It may be time to purge some of your older data into a historical directory. We can keep any number of years in your live directory (we usually recommend the current fiscal year plus the 2 previous) and then put all that history in a separate data space. Your history will still be right at your fingertips, stored on your cloud server and available through its own unique url.  This is one of our best year end clean up services! Prices vary based on data size, but we’ll take 20% off large or small!

15% off new digitized signature setups: Tired of hand signing checks or POs?  We can automate the signature process for up to three signature lines on checks and one signature on POs. Set up signatures for the new year to save 15%,  and you will no longer have checks or POs lying around waiting on signatures!

Sale prices apply to signed proposals received by July 15th, 2018. And don’t forget some of our other services that are helpful at year end:

  • Account Code Changes and Conversions: need help with ESSA reporting?
  • Frontline Absence and Time Integrations: why key leave, sub and time transactions when you can import them from Frontline into OpenRDA
  • Leave Liability Reporting: we can create a custom report to calculate your annual liability

If you need any assistance with your year end processes or have any questions about these services, be sure to let us know!

Happy Summer!

User Group Meetings

User Group Meetings

User Group Meetings in VA!

We are hitting the roads of Virginia and have 3 user group meetings planned in May. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us at one of these locations:

  • May 1st at Amelia County School Board
  • May 2nd at Northern Neck Technical Center
  • May 3rd at Warren County Community Center

These meetings are beneficial for both you as the user and us as the software provider. You get to learn better ways to solve problems and accomplish tasks, discover new features, and discuss issues you may have. We get to know you better, listen to your ideas, and learn new ways to improve our software. A successful user group meeting is one in which everyone can walk away knowing something they didn’t know when they came in.

Current users should have received an invitation to the meeting in your area. If you have not received an email but would like to attend, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Join IRS on Thunderclap to Promote a National “Paycheck Checkup”

The IRS invites the payroll community to join @IRSnews to support an IRS Thunderclap campaign promoting a national “Paycheck Checkup.”

Following major tax law changes, the IRS is urging all taxpayers to check their tax withholding to ensure they have the right amount of tax taken out of their paychecks. Too little withheld could mean a tax bill or penalty. And with the average refund topping $2,800, some may prefer to get more money in their pay now.

Thunderclap is a social media platform that will automatically post a message to participants’ Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr accounts to support an initiative. To sign up for the Paycheck Checkup Thunderclap:

  1. Follow this link: http://thndr.me/7BvGKI

  2. Select “Support with: Facebook | Twitter | Tumblr.” (Choose one, then repeat the process to select more platforms or a second account.)

  3. Authorize Thunderclap to post this one-time message by clicking the “Add My Support” tab, and following the prompts to input username and password.

  4. On Thursday, March 29, at 2 p.m. EST, Thunderclap will automatically post: “IRS urges you to perform a Paycheck Checkup today to make sure your tax withholding is right for you. http://thndr.me/TRRWef” to all participating social media accounts. The link goes to the recently updated IRS Withholding Calculator.

This Thunderclap effort is part of a broader IRS “Paycheck Checkup” campaign to encourage people to review their tax withholding. The IRS appreciates your assistance and continued partnership.
